Giving to the Cathedral
Why We Give
Psalm 24:1 implies that anything and everything we have comes from God. We are to use his good gifts in ways that honour him. The Bible tells us God’s people should give because:
1. We are partners in God’s gospel. (Philippians 1:5 & 4:15)
2. We have an obligation to provide for those who labour amongst us in the Lord and teach us God’s word. (1 Corinthians 9:7-14)
3. We must show love to those in need. (Ephesians 4:28, 1 John 3:17)
Most fundamentally, we give in grateful response to the generosity of God, shown in the death of his Son. So the most basic question to ask is: how much have we received from God? In 2 Corinthians 8:9, Paul writes:
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

For More Information
Contact the office or a Chapter member for more information on the current financial administration of St Andrew’s. As we decide how much we can cheerfully give for now, let’s ask God to make us more generous, year by year, as we understand more about the cross of Christ.
